Department of General Surgery

The General Surgery Department at Maricopa Medical Center provides a complete range of surgical services and specialties. The department utilizes 106 beds at Maricopa Medical Center to manage a full-range of surgical procedures. The staff has the expertise and resources to manage the most challenging surgical procedures using the latest techniques and technology.

Within the Department of Surgery, The Arizona Burn Center:

Is the second largest burn center by volume in the U.S.

Treats over 850 patients annually.

Has a 99% survival rate (the highest in the nation).

Medical Directors Dr. Daniel Caruso and Dr. Kevin Foster, with Associate Director Dr. Marc Matthews, are well known for their dedication and outstanding attention to patient care.

From the nationally recognized Burn Center, specialty surgical services and the expertise and experience of those responsible for trauma surgery at our Level I Trauma Center, Maricopa Medical Center staff is considered one of the most premier surgical teams in Arizona.
